Mount Hor

Aaron died on Mount Hor because, along with Moses, he had disobeyed God at the waters of Meribah. God had commanded them to speak to the rock to bring forth water, but Moses struck it instead, and Aaron supported him. As a consequence, neither was permitted to enter the Promised Land. Aaron died at 123 years old, and God ensured the priesthood continued through his son Eleazar.
