Ravens were unclean birds under the Law, yet God used them to sustain his prophet. This showed that God's resources are unlimited and he can use unexpected means. It also demonstrated that in times of crisis, God provides outside normal channels. The ravens brought bread and meat twice daily—God's provision was both sufficient and consistent.
