Old Testament

Darius the Mede received the kingdom after Babylon fell. He favored Daniel and planned to set him over the whole kingdom. When tricked into throwing Daniel into the lions' den, he was deeply distressed. After God rescued Daniel, Darius decreed that all must reverence Daniel's God.
